School Advisory Board

The school advisory board, whose authority is derived from the pastor of the parish, is given the mission of helping to provide quality Catholic education for all those children enrolled in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic School.  Advisory Board members accept this mission and bring to it their talents, wisdom, experiences, faith, life and good will.  All board members willingly accept and eagerly seek information, training and spiritual formation.

Parish school advisory boards have specific areas of responsibilities:

  • Setting short and long term goals
  • Making policy for the school
  • Approving the school budget and monitoring finances
  • Involvement in committees and activities to assist in attaining specified goals
  • Hiring the principal, with the Superintendent's approval
  • On-going evaluation of the principal's performance
  • Periodic review of board's own performance, including effectiveness of policies and goal attainment
  • Offering advice to principals/pastors when asked
