About
SJHS:
Sherman Jr. High School is located in Boone County on Coal River
Road in Seth, West Virginia. School enrollment is
currently around 300 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. We are the direct
feeder school to Sherman High School, which is physically
connected to our building.
Sherman Jr. High
School was established by the Boone County Board of Education in
1986. The school achieved a remarkable accomplishment
during the 1995-96 school year by becoming a National Blue
Ribbon School! In November of 2016, the school received
another impressive accolade when the West Virginia Department of
Education recognized Sherman Jr. High School for being
designated as an "A" school. Out of the 668 public schools
throughout the state of West Virginia, only 45 of them received
an "A" and Sherman Jr. High School was one of them!
In addition to offering many athletic opportunities for
students, we also offer many academic and leadership
organizations for students to take part in during their time at
Sherman Jr. High School. We want to see our students
showcase the leadership skills that each of them possess.
