Spotlight on: Debbie Manual, A.L.C. Custodian Debbie has worked here for 10 years, Monday through Friday, form 2:30 to 10:00 P.M. She enjoys her job, and on her spare time she loves cooking, and being with her grandchildren. At Barnes, Debbie does general cleaning. Debbie says "most of all I think my most favorite memory is going to school here from 1ST grade to 8th grade. If it weren’t for Debbie, what would this school be like?

Barnes Staff and Students Want New Library By Nicole Cooper Barnes is becoming a bigger, more well-known school day by day. With a school as large as ours, you would think we would have a school library, but we don’t. And that’s because it was where our school’s computer lab is now. The problem is we only have a limited amount of space and books, and a library would be very convenient for the students. It would supply us with the reading material that we need and a quiet space where we can do research and reports. Barnes needs new and useful books that will cater to the students. We like having other ways to look up information, and do research, such as books that the staff and students are interested in and things that will help us more easily. The next step is getting the funding. This comes from the LSIC vote, from the superintendent and possibly even some school fund raisers. Another good idea is ask our staff and students if they have any old or unneeded books lying around, and ask them to donate. We, as students, need a library, so please let’s all pitch in and give back to our schools. If you would like to donate books, magazines, or anything useful that you have lying around, please let us know or bring them to the main office at Barnes Learning Center. Remember every little bit helps.
